Hydroforming reduces material requirements

    Description

In the area of manufacturing of frame parts hydroforming technology also ensures a reduction in the requirements for material and thereby a reduction in costs. As a example: front axle subassemblies that are manufactured by conventional methods consist of six to eight sheet metal parts welded together. With hydroforming, the number of single parts can be drastically reduced to only about two or three parts.  This leads to lower costs for dies as well as to lower production costs since numerous positioning and welding operations are no longer necessary.
Another critical advantage of hydroforming in the manufacture of frame parts is the high degree of precision, most importantly in the repeat accuracy in the manufacturing process.
