Mechanical press with eccentric drive

Description

The Schuler Forgemaster product line includes press capacities of 1,100 to 4,400 US Tons (10,000 to 40,000 kN) and a slide stroke up to 40 inches (1,000 mm). These vertical, multi-station presses are suited for a wide range of parts manufactured by cold and warm forming methods as well as precision forging.
Demanding parts can be manufactured to near "ready-to-install" conditions. These include, vehicle drive elements subject to high stresses and parts with complicated asymmetrical shapes, such as bevel gears, alternator poles, or parts made of highly alloyed materials such as constant velocity joints (CVJs).  Because of the precision of the geometrics achieved by the working principle of the Schuler Forgemaster, many parts no longer require subsequent machining.
Due to die weights, forming temperatures, and tool service life, a die change system is a critical part of the system concept. Schuler offers the optimal changeover system for every need - whether semi-automated or fully automated control on adjustment and changeover functions.

Advantages

  • Wide range of application: cold forming, warm forming (at part temperatures of 550 to 950° C/1022 to 1742º F), precision forging (at part temperatures of 950 to 1200° C/1742 to 2192º F)
  • The nominal capacities from 350 to 3,500 US Tons (3,150 to 31,500 kN) permit the manufacture of a wide range of different part geometry and contours
  • Optimal part quality with long tool service life
