Servo press lines

Description

After the market introduction of Blanking and Forming Cells with servo drive, servo drive technology has also now gained acceptance in large panel press applications.  Servo press lines and blanking systems with servo drive currently being installed will change the future of stamping plants.  Servo press lines are characterized by maximum flexibility, high production rates and short die changeover times.  The slide motion curve of each press in the line can be individually adjusted for each part to suit the forming process, the dies and the automation.  The first such fully automated press lines will start production in 2009.
The new generation of crossbar feeders offers a seven-axis freedom of motion and demonstrate clear superiority in terms of their compact design and high throughput rate.  They form the basis for fast, reliable part transport of both single and double parts.  Only one press tooling is required for each press opening.  The crossbar feeder also performs loading of the lead press and the unloading function at the end of the line.

Advantages

  • fully automated systems solutions for high-volume automotive manufacturing
  • throughput performance up to 17 strokes per minute
  • faster and more reliable part transport with the crossbar feeder
  • slide speeds and motion characteristics individually programmable
  • well suited for processing of high-strength steels
  • superior part quality and long die service life
  • quick die changeovers
  • shorter start-up times thanks to tryout operation in multiple stations
  • high levels of uptime
  • energy consumption up to 10% less than in conventional lines
