Schuler ProfiLine

Equipment for part suppliers

Schuler’s ProfiLine range of equipment offers a standardized, modular production concept covering the whole spectrum of metalforming. The system comprises mechanical and hydraulic transfer-, ProgDie- and tryout presses as well as press lines, coil and blank feeding equipment and press automation systems with robots, feeders and three-axis transfer. Basic standardized equipment can also be combined with optional modules according to customer and production requirements. In addition to mechanical components, the modular system also includes electrical, control and visualization elements. The complete range has been carefully coordinated with regard to size and performance. In addition, all components are equipped with the same standardized control and operation elements.

Economic production solutions

The ProfiLine system offers economic solutions for almost every manufacturing task – especially for mid-sized part suppliers. The coordinated production concept is based on tried and tested modules and offers the highest level of availability and quality: high output, low unit costs, extreme flexibility and fast changeover times increase the economic efficiency of the production process. As the majority of the mechanical, electrical, control and visualization components are standardized, lead times can be reduced by up to 30 percent. That means significantly shorter delivery and production launch times at competitive prices.
At the heart of the ProfiLine range are mechanical and hydraulic transfer-, ProgDie- and tryout presses as well as press lines with capacities of 1,600 to 32,000 kN. In addition to extensive standard versions, customers can specify options such as different die-changing systems, hydraulic die cushions or noise reduction devices.

Flexibility and precision: the mechanical TMK series

The key benefits of the mechanical ProfiLine presses of the TMK series are its wide range of applications and high forming precision. The rigid press frame guarantees maximum repeating accuracy – also with varying material thicknesses and strengths. With capacities of 2,000 to 8,000 kN, the TMK presses can reach speeds of up to 140 strokes per minute, even with complex parts. The modified knuckle-joint drive system combines the benefits of a knuckle-joint drive with those of an eccentric drive and means that varying operations, such as embossing, calibrating, bending, punching and drawing, can all be carried out on a single machine. The ProfiLine presses of the standardized TMK series are offered in bolster sizes of up to 3,660 x 1,500 mm.

Parallelism control, cutting shock dampers and cylinder selection: the hydraulic SH series

Schuler offers its hydraulic SH press range in ten different sizes, with capacities of 1,600 to 16,000 kN and bolster sizes of 1,300 x 1,000 mm to 3,000 x 1,600 mm. For applications using transfer presses or complex dies, the parallelism control system of the SH hydraulic presses offers tremendous benefits: such as the ability to handle high off-center loads and the extension of die life. Cutting shock dampers mounted directly next to the press bolster ensure that the impact of the stroke is suitably dampened. This raises process stability and reduces die costs caused by end blows in the die. The cutting shock dampers also play an important role in protecting the press and die as well as reducing noise. In order to raise output, the SH presses can also be fitted with dynamic cylinder selection. By automatically adapting to the required press force, slide speed and thus part output can be raised.

Feeding and linking for every press type

ProfiLine press lines can be used with press link concepts incorporating feeders and robots. Both concepts can be used for processing structural elements and panels in steel and aluminum. For transfer presses, Schuler also provides an electronic 3-axis transfer in varying sizes which can reach speeds of up to 100 strokes per minute.
Material can be fed via short- or long-format coil lines or press-specific blank feeders. The ProfiLine features two different types of coil line: the C-range is especially well suited to processing thin sheet metal and structural elements, while the S-range can be used for thicker sheet metal, wider coils and higher quality requirements. The space-saving, short-format line is particularly useful in limited spaces and for greater sheet metal thicknesses and tensile strengths. Individual components – such as decoilers, straighteners and feeders – can be combined according to needs. A wide variety of options enables customers to adapt equipment to their individual production needs. In the case of blank feeders, the range offers five different concepts with robots and/or feeders, which are tailored to various press types. In addition to the standard version, feeders can also be supplied with mechanical centering stations, washers, oilers and double blank detectors.
