Dipl. Ing. Jürgen Tonn, 59, joined Schuler AG in October 2006 as Chairman of the Board of Management. He assumes responsibility for the strategic corporate development, and Corporate Communications as well as for management of the business units Automation and Production Systems. After completion of his studies in mechanical engineering, Jürgen Tonn worked first as chief engineer at O&K Orenstein & Koppel (Dortmund) and later as general manager at Krupp Industrial Technology (Duisburg) and as area director of PWH-Weser Foundry (Bad Oeynhausen). From 1987 he held executive board and top management positions at O&K Orenstein & Koppel Equipment and Systems (Lübeck), SKET Machine Tools and Equipment (Magdeburg), ABB Industrial Technology (Mannheim), and DBT German Mining Technology (Lünen). After serving as interim manager and consultant, Jürgen Tonn became board chairman and managing director of DS Technology GmbH, Mönchengladbach, serving in this capacity from 2001 to 2006.
