Mechanical presses with link drive

Description

Schuler is continuing it's tradition in cold and warm forming with their MML2 press product line.  With a press capacity range of 350 to 3,500 US Tons (3,150 to 31,500 kN) and a slide stroke up to 31.5 inches (800 mm) these vertical multi-station lines offer the widest possible flexibility in terms of stroke length and motion characteristics. The process-specific link drive, developed by Schuler, for the MML2 series offers longer slide stroke than that offered by conventional link drives and, thus, a wider range of application. This meets the ideal requirements for complicated extrusion work, for example in the manufacture of drive shafts for the automobile industry.
Our MML2 series also features two significant economical factors in forming from solid such as workpiece precision and tool service life. A decisive factor in this regard is the rigidity of the system and off-center loading when using multi-station die sets. The MML2 series offers optimal conditions for complicated, multi-station forming. These presses feature a generously dimensioned die space and special 8-way slide guiding that permits minimal guiding clearance by allowing unimpeded thermal expansion of the slide.

Advantages

  • Optimal workpiece quality and long tool service life
  • The nominal capacities from 350 to 3,500 US Tons (3,150 to 31,500 kN) permit the manufacture of a wide range of different part geometry and contours
