Manufacturing prototypes quickly and cost-effectively
Description
In the prototyping phase, components are produced in accordance with the desired properties in a forming sequence close to that of actual volume production using simple, thereby low cost dies.
As a rule, a non-linear forming simulation takes place before prototyping. Simulation determines the feasibility and the process parameters of the component. Design and construction of simple dies (dies not designed for volume production) permit manufacturing of prototype components in a short time. The prototypes conform to the desired conponent characteristics and provide information about the manufacturing process.
Schuler offers complete processing capabilities for the manufacture of prototypes from a single source. For this reason, expenditures of both time and money are kept low. The process includes quality management on site. All the required measuring and testing equipment is available in our own Hydroforming Technology Center. Our process specialists join with the customer to examine the results of the prototyping. These evaluations lead either to the approval/release of the part design or to modifications of the contour or other parameters.
