Minting presses.
Installed around the world.
Schuler, thanks to its innovative developments, has been setting the standards for coin minting technology since the very beginning. Even at the beginning of the last century, Schuler knuckle-joint presses were producing coins at a rates up to 60 coins per minute - an amazing achievement for the time. The export of such presses also began very early. For example, Schuler delivered its first such presses to China as early as 1905. Thanks to continuous improvements, Schuler had delivered more than 1,000 coin minting presses to roughly 50 countries by the mid-1930s. Even more impressive, a number of these presses are still in operation today. A new epoch in coin minting technology began in the 1960s with the development of minting presses in horizontal design. Schuler incrementally improved the performance of these presses - up to the current rate of up to 850 coins per minute. Parallel developments included the introduction of a series of presses in vertical design for the production of circulating coins encompassing round, multi-sided, or bi-metal coins. Schuler has also met more recent challenges with continuing developments and innovations, including, for example, multi-strike, high-performance proof coin minting presses or coin edge inscription of bi-metal coins at the time of the introduction of the Euro. In addition, numerous patents (for example, the link drive system or the automated blank monitoring and bad blank ejection system) are the result of our forward-looking, customer-oriented research and development with the goal of continuous improvement of the cost-effectiveness of our lines.
