Principle of the Segment Master process

High-speed in high-volume production.

High-speed blanking presses for the manufacture of flat parts such as electric motor laminations, clutch plates, link plates, circular coin blanks, toothed gears, or micro-precision components are among the "top performers" of cost-effective high-volume production. Schuler offers its customers a complete range of capabilities from a single source. The most important factor is the close cooperation among users, die makers, and press suppliers. From feed unit and press to the dies and on to destacking units - comprehensive line concepts guarantee economical solutions. Schuler high-speed blanking presses are noted for their high-performance design elements such as, for example, dynamic mass counterbalance or the slide guiding system. Flexible ranges of application and numerous variable accessories provide for a high standard of quality and performance. Together with a partner we manufacture progressive dies for the smallest motor and tranformer laminations up to modularly constructed blanking dies with a coil width of more than 600 mm and a die length up to 3,000 mm. New approaches to the manufacturing of your products are open to you with the aid of pneumatically controlled punches and linear or torque drives.
The patented Schuler Segment Master System is used in the manufacture of rotor and stator stacks for alternators and generators, especially those of large dimension. In this case, segments are notched, deposited as a ring in a rotary tool and finally provided overlapping bundling or packing. Compared to conventional processing, the Segment Master System dramatically reduces material requirements, makes part handling easier and reduces cost and space requirements.
