ProgDie-press with coil line in long design and sound enclosure

High stroking rates – low cost per unit.

Schuler ProgDie presses (progressive die) are noted for high stroking rates and low cost per unit.  In manufacturing by progressive die part transport is controlled by the feed of the coil line.  The parts are separated from the coil strip only with the last stroke.  ProgDie presses are single-slide presses and are used primarily in the manufacture of structural parts.  In actual practice ten or more forming stations are standard.  Because of the high loads on the spring-loaded dies the drawing depth is usually no more than 120 mm.  ProgDie manufacturing requires that special attention be paid to the feeding system of the coil line since a stroking rates up to 60 spm maximum feed accuracy is necessary.
Mechanical progressive die presses (6,300 to 32,000 kN) permit production rates of up to 60 strokes per minute. Stamping and forming cells with servo technology (2,500 to 6,300 kN) achieve stroking rates of up to 110 spm.
